OISIMA
Capturing emotionally connective electronica with a delicate precision, Adelaide artist Oisima – Anth Wendt – samples and reworks everyone from Adele to DOOM alongside his own hypnotic originals.

Since his first live appearance at Adelaide’s Lost City Festival in February last year, the solo beatmaker has released 2 EPs, signed to Berlin-based Herbede Records and shared the stage with the likes of electronic heavyweights xxyyxx, Ras G, Knwledge & Mux Mool. He has gained international attention and a fierce local following for his delicate synthesis of jazz-infused melodies and ambient laced, hip-hop beats.

With an exciting summer of activity lined up and a debut long player on the way, Oisima is definitely one of Australia’s most promising electronic producers to keep an eye on.

RIA SOEMARDJO
Ria Soemardjo is a vocalist, musician, composer and teacher. Her distinct , haunting vocal style reflects an eclectic range of influences, and she has recorded with a diverse range of ensembles – across genres including contemporary and trad world, to jazz and improvisation. Born in Melbourne of Australian/Indonesian descent, Ria draws on her deep respect for the Javanese musical tradition in her song writing and cross disciplinary projects

NORIKO TADANO
Noriko Tadano plays both traditional Japanese folk songs (Minyo) as well as original pieces on the Tsugaru Shamisen (Japanese Banjo). She has been playing Shamisen since she was 6 years old and has performed in Japan, Europe, Canada, Tonga and at festivals and events all over Australia. Noriko’s recent achievements include the ‘2009 Head Judge’s Special Award’ at the National Japanese Shamisen Competition held in Hirosaki - Japan, a solo performance at the Sydney Opera House and a number of dynamic shows at the International WOMADelaide world music festival with George Kamikawa 2010. She also performed on the popular ABC music quiz show ‘Spicks and Specks’ in February 2010.

Noriko is the founder of Australia’s first Shamisen group the ‘Shamys’. They formed in 2005 and have performed at cultural festivals and concerts throughout Victoria. With a mix of traditional and contemporary songs, the Shamisen ensemble creates powerful and synchronised sounds that engage the audience.
