This piece is read in Hindi and translates to Unknown Pain. It's about domestic violence and is inspired by a women, from my community, I met who shared with me her her pain and agony. This piece reflects my surprise about domestic violence that it too travels across borders to new homelands.
About the artist....
I am presenter at C31, social worker working to build communities by contributing through workshops, sessions, dance, craft and creativity.
I have recently made a documentary on domestic violence within the Indian community and looking forward to work more intensively for women's welfare from CALD backgrounds.
I believe spoken words are the threads which can sew our society with word power. Poetry helps an artist to pour out their hearts by delivering a message in a very strong, composed way. I write and perform spoken word in 3 languages which has helped me in building a powerful aura around .
