about

Lem Lem Band is a collaboration between:

BEATRICE
Beatrice, a vocalist and electronic music producer blends trip-hop styles with new electronica, antique synthesizers, bass heavy beats and live strings.

A rising performer on the festival circuit, she creates compelling and intimate music with a gritty distorted edge. Her music’s deep and dark nature offers a hope and wisdom that immediately strikes a chord with audiences. Themes of beauty, justice and social change guide her work.

Beatrice makes music because the revolution is in motion and the system is about to lose control - as its grip slips and the greatest ever assault is unleashed, Beatrice makes a soundtrack to keep the shadows away as you sleep.

SINIT TSEGAY
Sinit arrived in Australia from her home country Ethiopia at the age of 10. Now, 18 she is studying Community Development at Victoria Univeristy.

Sinit has always loved to sing and learnt her Ethiopian songs whilst singing in her church in Addis Ababa. When she arrived in Australia, she was given a scholarship to the Greentree Drama School in Williamstown and still attends weekly classes there. Through drama she has appeared in several short films, often given a role that requires her to sing as her talent has become apparent to all who hear her.

In 2015 Sinit has put together ESKISTA dance group featuring young Ethiopian dancers who represent the various rhythms and dances from around Ethiopia
